About Hope In Wax

Hey friends — I’m Robert Elrod, owner and founder of Hope in Wax.
This is where I share my journey — how it all began, and how I’m turning struggle into purpose. Earlier this year, life hit hard. Health issues meant I couldn’t work, and while waiting on my SSID process, I lost my home. I reached out to every veteran organization I could find — the ones promising to keep vets off the streets — but most were slow to act, or just… not there when it mattered. By October, I was staring down homelessness within 30 days. That’s when I found Operation Rally Point, and thankfully, they gave me and my Husky, Cherra, a safe place to land. But I realized something: we can do better. So, I created Hope in Wax — a candle business and wax melt built from scratch, with nothing but determination (and maybe a little stubbornness). I’m starting with wax melts to keep costs low and the mission moving.

My big vision? 100,000 candles / melts sold a month — enough to buy a home for a homeless vet every month, and eventually, to build something even bigger. 90% of all profits go toward helping veterans get back on their feet.

Every candle or melt means hope. Every flame, a promise. This is just the beginning of No One Left Behind.
